Innovationcamp Bremen

The Innovation Camp Bremen is a collaborative project of the University of Bremen, Jacobs University and Handelskammer Bremen. The first camp with overnight stay took place at the Youth Hostel Bremen in autumn 2007.

Children and adolescents worked in teams with scientists from both the universities for an entire week. There they dealt with the newest technologies. In the workshops “Humanoid Robots” and “Interactive Fantasy” the boys and girls could make the robots dance and stage their fantasies together with Smart Textiles in a theatre play.

At the 2008 camp participants had a choice of three workshops. In the Youth Hostel Bremen technology and sport got combined and enhanced each other. Moreover autonomous and humanoid robots were constructed and programmed by the participants. As every year the grand finale of the camp was the Innovation Show.

Vom 22. – 26. Oktober fand gemeinsam mit der Robotics Group der Jacobs University mit dem „innovationscamp bremen 2007“ ein ganz besonderes Angebot für Schülerinnen und Schüler statt.
In dem Workshop „interactive fantasy“ wurden Kinder zu Regisseuren und Konstruk­teuren von Fantasiegeschichten, in denen neben Robotern auch Kostüme, Kulissen und andere Gegenstände durch Einbau und Programmierung kleiner Mikrocontroller „lebendig“ werden konnten.
Menschenähnliche Roboter, Maschinen mit zwei Armen, zwei Beinen einem Torso und einem Kopf, wurden in dem Workshop „humanoide roboter“ gebaut und programmiert.
