Organizer: King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand in cooperation with University of Bremen, Germany
The first international conference on digital media and learning (ICDML2006) aims to bring together people from government, academic institutions and industry to discuss and exchange ideas in the area of intersection between digital media and learning. The long-term objective is to build an interdisciplinary and international community for research and practical programs applying computing and electronics to learning experiences. To achieve this goal, the conference will offer paper presentations, posters and discussions on relevant topics. The conference is intended to cover the entire spectrum of existing knowledge and activities in digital media and learning.
Call for Paper: Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
* Infrastructure in education: accessibility, distance learning, virtual university, etc.
* Basic technology for education: data mining and knowledge management, storage management, image and speech processing, security in digital media, streaming, video conferencing, distributed systems, web technologies, etc.
* Software design: tools, contents and interfaces in courseware design, e-learning modules, etc.
* Changes in learning through digital media: education of young children, schools and higher education institutions, teachers’ training, collaborative learning, cross-cultural learning, life-long learning, etc.
* Management - IT and innovation in educational institutiones: electronic platforms, content management, etc.
Important dates:
* Paper submission deadline October 31, 2005
* Notification of acceptance November 30, 2005
* Confirmation of attendance December 15, 2005
* Early registration deadline January 15, 2006
* Final manuscript submission January 15, 2006
